The Great Martin Luther King Jr.
If you have forgotten that today is Martin Luther King day, then here is a little reminder.
Below I have posted links to two of Dr. Kings most influential works.
The first link is a link to his Letter From a Birmingham City Jail. This letter is Dr. Kings response to criticisms of his non-violent protests in Birmingham, Alabama. The criticisms come from 8 white clergymen of the state of Alabama. These protests were the reasons why he was imprisoned and why this letter was written on toilet paper and in the margins of newspapers and books. He was officially charged with parading without a permit.
The letter takes about 45 minutes to read. Dr. King explains why by stating that:
"Never before have I written so long a letter. I’m afraid it is much too long to take your precious time. I can assure you that it would have been much shorter if I had been writing from a comfortable desk, but what else can one do when he is alone in a narrow jail cell, other than write long letters, think long thoughts and pray long prayers?"

The link below is to Dr. King's famous I Have a Dream speech. Which was given on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in front of over 200,000 people.
This speech is the greatest speech ever given. The link contains the entire speech, which is about 15 minutes long. When Dr. King begins with "I have a dream", about 12-13 minutes in, from that point forward he strays completely away from his prepared speech. His words come from his heart and will move you to tears.

Today is Martin Luther King Day, what better time to pay tribute and respect to one of the greatest humanitarians, moral leaders and human beings ever to grace this earth?
Stop watching Jersey Shore, reading Cosmo or cooking dinner. Take 1 hour out of your "busy" day and familiarize yourself with a man who is respected enough to be mentioned along side Jesus Christ, Gandhi and Mother Theresa.
