About Me

Howdy, I'm Ryan. I am 22 and currently studying to be an elementary and junior high school teacher at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh.

I am extremely passionate about my health and the health of those around me. However, much of the popular health information available to us is wrong. I want to bring to light other forms of healthy living that are not normally shown on TV and in magazines.

I have a lot of experience with different food and exercise systems.

At some point in my life I have eaten the following food systems: Standard American Diet, Government recommended Food Pyramid, vegetarian, vegan and now low carb/palio/primal (all though their are minor differences (dairy) in these diets, they are essentially the same.)

The reason that I have switched the way I eat is because I did not see results.

Lack of results also motivated me to seek out alternative forms of exercise. Again I followed what "normal" people did to lose weight. I ran, swam, biked and did countless other exercises. All in the name of good health. Currently, High Intensity Exercise (HIT) has overtaken my exercise life.

This blog was created simply to inform people about what I have learned and am currently learning about food, working out and all sorts of other health related topics.  I have spent over 1,000 hours of my life reading, researching and practicing proper ways to obtain optimal health. Please follow along and chime into discussions if the topic is of interest to you.

Yours in health

Ryan Banks
